Groups of Course Limited (GOC), in partnership with Everton Esmie’s Transportation & Tours (EETT) and Florida-based community advocate Ainsley Dixon, has launched a coordinated relief initiative to support families across Montego Bay and surrounding communities who were severely impacted by Hurricane Melissa.

The relief effort is led by Marsha Esmie, Director of GOC, alongside Everton Esmie of EETT, and Ainsley Dixon, a Montego Bay native committed to charitable work both locally and in the United States. Together, the team is mobilising resources to provide immediate assistance to families who have lost clothing, school supplies, household items, and other essential needs.

Addressing Urgent Community Needs

Hurricane Melissa brought unexpected devastation to areas across Montego Bay, leaving many families—especially children, single-parent households, and the elderly—without the essentials required to begin rebuilding their lives. Many of the affected individuals are personally known to the team: neighbours, church members, friends, and long-standing members of the community.

The mission is simple:
No family should feel forgotten. No child should go without basic needs as recovery begins.

How Donations Will Be Used

All contributions to the relief fund will go directly toward purchasing and distributing essential supplies, including:

  • School supplies and backpacks

  • Clothing for children and families

  • Hygiene and household essentials

  • School shoes and socks

  • Textbooks and stationery

  • Basic care items for affected homes

Priority support will be given to the most vulnerable groups, including families with school-aged children, elderly residents, low-income households, and individuals who lost homes or property.

A Commitment to Transparency

The organising partners have pledged full accountability throughout the relief process.
This includes:

  • Funds used exclusively for relief purposes

  • Documented purchases and distributions

  • Public updates, photos, and video highlights shared via the platforms of EETT, GOC, and Ainsley Dixon

  • A final donor report issued at the end of the initiative

  • No administrative fees or personal benefit—every dollar goes directly to affected families

Standing Together for Recovery

Recovery from Hurricane Melissa will take time, but with community effort and global support, families can begin to rebuild their homes, routines, and sense of stability. The relief partners are calling on individuals, organisations, and well-wishers to stand with Montego Bay during this challenging period.
